As a member of the Firmware team that develops solutions for mobile handset chips, the candidate will be responsible for the audio and modem low level processing part as well as the scheduling part of the solution. This includes the implementation and the verification of the modules which are either defined in-house or acquired from a 3rd party. Typical modules of the audio processing chain include sampling rate conversion, audio equalizer, and dynamic range control. Typical modules for the modem processing chain include channel codec, equalizer, and ciphering.
Moreover the team is also responsible of the Firmware component integration and customer support in the final mobile platform.
The candidate will be expected to:
� Provide module descriptions, reference code, software KPI (MCPS, ROM, RAM consumption).
� Define efficient software partitioning in RTOS environment.
� Implement optimized processing modules and scheduling.
� Improve verification environment in pre- and post- silicon.
� Follow strict SW methodology for component platform integration (versioning and bug tracking).
� Support platform pre-type approval team on IOT/Field test issues analysis and resolution.
Qualifications
Functional/Industry Knowledge:
- Modem processing algorithm development skills
- Experience with integration 2G modem algorithms on embedded systems (GSM/GPRS/EDGE)
- Real-time SW development and debug over multi-core platforms with tight cycles and memory footprint constraints
- C float, C fixed and assembly programming experience
- Experience with DSP (Assembly Programming and optimization)
- Excellent communicator (both in writing and verbally)
- Good English (written and spoken)
- Team player
- Must be able to work with people in many different cultures
Education:
BE/BTech/Masters from reputed institutes with good academics (e.g. IITs)
Preferred Major: Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Telecommunication
Experience:
4-9 years of experience
